Monday- No School!
Tuesday-
Seniors-Read for the first ten minutes of class, synthesis essay comparing and contrasting in Walden and Emerson's work with citations. (8-10 sentences per paragraph)
Juniors- Read for the first ten minutes of class, take notes on how to write a summary,and watch movie previews and write summaries about them.
Wednesday-
Seniors- Write in journals for the first ten minutes of class, read essay by Safire and identify how the author analyzes the deeper meaning of words especially contemporary language shifts (blogging and texting as verbs). Students will write an analysis essay with evidence from the article.
Juniors- Write in journals for the first ten minutes of class, read "Never Let Me Go", write a summary over chapters 1-2, and answer analysis questions.
Thursday-
Seniors- Read for the first ten minutes of class, take notes on how to write a summary, pass out the handout with example, watch movie previews and write summaries on them.
Juniors- Read for the first ten minutes of class, read chapters 3-4 of "Never Let Me Go", write summary and answer analysis questions.
