Spring Break Week of March 12-15

Research Reports need to be typed and ready to be submitted at the beginning of your class period Monday, March 19. PowerPoint Presentations can be emailed to racqueloconnor27@gmail.com or brought to school on a flash drive.  Presentations will begin on Monday and will be random.

All Classes must have their research report turned in by Thursday. PowerPoint and Zoo money ($2) is due the Monday we return from Spring Break along with a printed copy of your report. I will not be printing reports on Monday.

UW.G11.3R.C2.P01- Analyze how patterns of organization, hierarchical structures, repetition of ideas, syntax, and word choice influence the clarity and understandability of functional text.

Each day, students will be responsible for summarizing each chapter using a direct quote and proper citation in addition to answering coinciding comprehension questions designated for each chapter.

Tuesday- Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will be working on theme analysis. The class will read, “The Sky Tree” on pg. 51.  The teacher will then hold a class discussion on the theme and model how to write a theme analysis utilizing 3 direct quotes from the selection as evidentiary support. 


Wednesday- Essential Facts Quiz. Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Students will be working on theme analysis. The class will read, “How the World was Made” on pg. 48.  The teacher will then hold a class discussion on the theme and again model how to write a theme analysis utilizing 3 direct quotes from the selection as evidentiary support.  Students will complete analysis on their own for assessment.

Thursday- Research Report 3 Animal Sections Due. Students will write 200 words on the journal topic. Quiz. 5-paragraph essay Comparing and contrasting the theme, author’s purpose, and settings of this week’s literature selections.
